Description

Tobacco Road Chardonnay 2010 is a fruity and fresh white wine from the Victorian Alps Winery.

Tobacco Road Chardonnay 2010 was made with fruit harvested at night, crushed and pressed into stainless steel fermenters. It was then cool fermented with champagne isolate yeast and had extended post-fermentation lees contact.

"Without the use of malo-lactic fermentation but with some extended lees contact we were able to retain the intense fresh fruit of the chardonnay whilst adding complexity and texture from the lees. We feel this approach has given a very expressive and complex unoaked chardonnay." - Shayne Cunningham & Andrew Vesey - Victorian Alps Winery

The Tobacco Road portfolio of wines hails from the same producers of the acclaimed Gapsted, Coldstone, Snowy Creek and Dividing Range wines, all standout performers in the Australian Wine market.

The Victorian Alps Winery has been described by James Halliday himself as “An outstanding winery regularly producing wines of exemplary quality and typicity”, and the unoaked Tobacco Road Chardonnay 2008 is no exception.

The Tobacco Road Chardonnay 2010 pairs perfectly with pan-fried whiting fillets served with a fresh green salad, and is best enjoyed now! Right now!
