Description

Snowy Creek Merlot Cabernet Shiraz 2009 is a fresh and spicy red wine from the Victorian Alps Winery. The Merlot was blended with Shiraz to create spiciness and with the Cabernet Sauvignon for the robust back palate. The fruit of this labour (pardon the pun!) is a mature red wine with fresh, elegant currant and spice notes.

The Snowy Creek portfolio of wines hails from the same producers of the acclaimed Gapsted, Coldstone, Tobacco Road and Dividing Range wines, all standout performers in the Australian Wine market. The Victorian Alps Winery has been described by James Halliday himself as “An outstanding winery regularly producing wines of exemplary quality and typicity”, and the 2008 Merlot Cabernet Shiraz is no exception.

Snowy Creek Merlot Cabernet Shiraz 2009 pairs perfectly with pizza, pasta and roasted meats and is suited for immediate enjoyment.

Tasting Note: Ripe, blood plum flesh. Fresh dark plum and blackcurrant aromas. Mouth filling spicy fruit flavours and a smooth lingering finish.
