The John Walker is simply excellent; yet there is nothing simple about it. The John Walker is one of the rarest and most exclusive Scotch labels ever created. Made as a tribute to John Walker himself, the endeavour of the Master Distiller was to recreate the authentic, original flavours that inspired the range of whiskies loved the world over. The John Walker is comprised of whiskies drawn from just 9 distilleries – 6 malt and 3 grain – not the thirty or forty often seen in other blends. Each contribution comes from a distillery once available to John Walker himself and each tiny single-cask batch is married in especially sourced cask wood over 100 years old.
Just as John Walker would’ve chosen the best available to him, the master blender has selected some of the last remaining casks from long-gone distilleries. These are priceless, irreplaceable liquids, including the distillers’ last stocks of single malt from Glen Albyn, closed in 1983 and Cambus, closed in 1993. In recapturing the style, character and taste of the original blends; such exacting care and uncompromising standards results in a yield of just 330 individually numbered decanters of The John Walker annually, since 2010. Just as in John Walker’s day, no two batches will ever be exactly the same.
Don’t miss out on the opportunity to own a piece of Scotch Whisky history and rarity, an unbeatable liquor investment. The John Walker is a trophy that very few will ever hold, but those who do are special people – the members of a global elite. John Walker would be proud.
Only the crystal of kings from world renowned Baccarat could contain The John Walker. In the whole world, just 3 master craftsmen have the skill required. Each numbered crystal decanter is a unique example of unsurpassed excellence and human precision. Hand-blown, polished and sand-engraved, it is presented in a lacquered solid wood display case with luxurious leather padding. Under the Baccarat crystal stopper rests a 24K gold plated neck collar, reflecting the precious golden liquid within.
Tasting Note: On the nose the richer wisdom of mature fruits slowly supersedes youthful aromas of fresh citrus. On the palate there's a vanilla oak sweetness touched by citrus. Smooth and mellow finish reaches its climax in rich smokiness. Rich and complex.
