Description

Briar Ridge is a 5 star boutique winery nestled in the picturesque Mount View region of the Hunter Valley. The winery has been recognised with the prestigious 5 star rating by Australia’s renowned wine critic James Halliday in his Australian Wine Companion for 7 consecutive years. This iconic Hunter vineyard was purchased in 1988 by Dr John Davis. Briar Ridge is characterised by its history, substance and youthful enthusiasm. With over 40 years of heritage as one of the Hunters leading producers, it has under its belt more than 40 national and international accolades. What is unique to Briar Ridge is the science behind the vineyard and the grapes. Owner Dr John Davis, a former oil geologist, uses his knowledge of rock and soil formations to ensure his vines develop the best fruit possible. Unlike any other winemaker, John core drills all his vineyards and uses this information to plot his land. He identifies patches to establish vines that create unique parcels of wine. This insight not only helps the current vintage but also ensures a sustainable future for his vineyards. The Winemakers Selection are an outstanding fresh and vibrant range. Best consumed within the short to medium term to enjoy the freshness and fresh fruit flavours.

Tasting Note: Expressive tropical fruit notes of guave and melon, with hints of mandarin blosson. Crisp and refreshing with a thirst quenching finish.
