West Cork Distillers was founded by 3 friends in 2004 who were inspired by the true character of West Cork and a lifelong desire to make the best spirits in the world. Cork is widely recognised as the cultural home for whiskey production in Ireland and a sector enjoying unprecedented growth. Their success is built on friendship, the passion for innovation and quality products. Preserving the fine craft of traditional Irish Whiskey, West Cork is dedicated to producing the highest quality Irish Whiskies using local products and artisanal techniques.
Born from humble beginnings, West Cork Distillers is now one of only two independent distilleries in Ireland. and West Cork whiskies are proudly made with 100% Irish ingredients; Irish spring water, green malt, barley and grains indigenous to Ireland. It is the only distillery in Ireland that malt their own barley.
West Cork Cask Strength is a deliciously blended Irish Whiskey containing 66% grain Irish whiskey and 33% malt Irish whiskey. The dram is matured in first fill bourbon followed by ten polish matured exhausted Irish whiskey casks for a further 6 months. This process allows the malt and grain whiskeys to mature together, producing cask strength with a unique smoothness.

Tasting Note: Mahogany brown colour. Intense malt aroma with floral slight sweetness. Sweet taste dried fruit, orange and citrus with malt lasting.

    Can you say 'full-flavoured'?

Lately I've found lots of Scotch whiskies a bit boring, and have been drinking more Irish. This cask strength West Cork is an absolute bargain. It's full of beautiful Irish whiskey flavour and a little goes a long way. It's replaced Talisker as my top Irish whiskey choice.
