Kurayoshi is produced at the Matsui Shuzou facility (founded in 1910) in the Tottori Prefecture, northwest of Kyoto on the shore of the Sea of Japan. Tottori is known for its soft mineral water and abundance of nature with over 14% of the total land area designated as Natural Park.
Fresh ground water from the Tottori prefecture wilderness is used to bring the Kurayoshi Whisky to proof. The Kurayoshi Pure Malt Sherry Cask is a 100% malted barley whisky, created by blending Japanese and Scotch whisky. The whisky is then matured for around three years before being finished in Sherry casks. Very soft and recommended for all palates, it has a balanced aroma, smooth palate with a lingering finish.
