We've managed to source Jack Daniel's No. 27 Gold Tennessee Whiskey which was only scheduled as a Duty Free release. This American Whiskey promises a rich, distinctive expression of the distillery's original Old No. 7.
Crafted to the same uncompromising standards, 'Gold' earns its name from double barrelling and double mellowing. In short, this Jack is extra matured in golden-hued maple barrels and twice charcoal mellowed. Master Distiller, Jeff Arnett says you should expect ...subtle hints of rich, warm maple and toasted oak on entry giving way to a complex medley of fruit."
He added that the double charcoal mellowing process provides an exceedingly smooth finish that works especially well with the maple barrels. The extra time and attention required to craft this ultra-smooth spirit means Jack Daniel's No. 27 Gold will only be released in a limited number of venues.
Tasting Note: Gold in colour. Luxurious hints of maple double mellowed for smoothness with a rich, warm finish.
Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Tennessee Whiskey 700ml
Jack Daniel's Single Barrel is a Tennessee Whiskey from the oldest licensed distillery in America. Single Barrel is made using the same meticulous and time-honoured techniques employed in producing the globally acclaimed Jack Daniel's Whiskey range. Like the other members of the Jack Daniel's Family, Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Tennessee Whiskey is charcoal-mellowed drop by drop and housed in charred American white oak barrels to reach maturity.
Single Barrel deviates from the norm as it is laid to rest in a specific area of the barrelhouse that is subject to great fluctuations in seasonal temperatures. In the summer heat, the pores of the oak barrels open up, allowing the whiskey to interact with the wood. Conversely, winter chills contract the barrel, forcing the whiskey out of the grain. Moving in and out of the wood, the whiskey obtains its amber hue and subtle flavours from the barrel's interior.
"Oakier than a typical Jack Daniel's, noticeably rounder with lemon and maple syrup. An interesting interplay of Jack Daniel's house character and a more luxurious oakiness." - Michael Jackson, Whisky Magazine Online.
Tasting Note: Deep amber. Noticeably sweet with hints of vanilla and toasted oak. Vanilla, caramel start becoming a little heavier and almost creamy in nature with toasted oak. Lemon, maple syrup.
