The Age Of Discovery was a time when cities were expanding. American whisky distilleries were producing more Tennesee sour mash, bourbon and rye whiskies and The Great American Rivers transported fine oak casks filled with American bourbon towards the busy port of New Orleans.
The Age Of Discovery Bourbon Cask Reserve is inspired by that history and the first and only expression from Glenfiddich to have spent its whole 19 years maturation in bourbon casks, creating a refined balance of spicy sweetness and rich dried fruit flavours. Bourbon casks could only be used once by bourbon producers as their aromas and flavours are released quickly from the casks, however, the casks prove excellent for ageing single malt Scotch. Truly a one of a kind whisky to add to your collection.

92 Points - Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible 2018 “For my money Glenfiddich turns from something quite workaday to a malt extraordinaire between the ages of 15 and 18. So depending on the casks chosen, a year the other side of that golden age shouldn’t make too much difference.”
Tasting Note: Nose of warm toffee, marmalade on toast with fine orange liqueur balanced by dry, smoky oak tannins. Rich taste of vanilla pod, leather and Havana tobacco. Sweet, velvety mouth-feel with hints of cardamom and nutmeg. Warm, delightful long finish.
