It’s hard to find a better address for wine production than Australia’s Margaret River. It holds a favourable international reputation as premium wine country and is home to a collection of boutique vineyards offering a variety of styles and a depth of unique, complex flavours. The climate here has often been compared to that of one of the most famous wine regions in the world, that of Bordeaux, France. Its proximity to the ocean gives the area a distinct maritime influence that creates idyllic growing conditions and adds unique character and flavour to the wines. Although it has a small geographical footprint, Margaret River produces over a fifth of Australia’s premium wine.
Location is a vital ingredient in the production of exceptional wine. It steers direction on style, flavour, and helps define character. Although there are other elements that are important considerations, in winemaking, a vineyard’s geographical orientation is paramount. 33 South has been produced in the blue-ribbon location of Australia’s Margaret River Wine region and its identity is intertwined with a sense of place that begins with its pedigree location and ends with the passion, dedication and knowledge of its people.
