Islay Whisky Sour

Typically a three punch combo of base spirit, sugar and citrus - the simple sour template is the blueprint for countless classic cocktails from the Margarita to the Daiquiri. This Whisky Sour recipe has a couple of extra riffs thrown in for an updated take on this much loved classic.
Ingredients
- 60ml Islay Whiskey (some delicious examples below)
- 15ml lemon juice
- 15ml sugar syrup
- 1 egg white
- Cubed ice
- Maraschino cherry and orange slice
How To
- Put lemon juice, sugar syrup and egg white into shaker for a dry shake (no ice)
- Shake hard for 10 seconds which will create a frothy mixture
- Add Islay whisky in glass with cubed ice
- Pour frothy mixture into glass
- Add 1 dash of bitters to glass
- Garnish with cherry and orange slice
