Kraken is imported black rum from the Caribbean and blended with over 11 secret spices. The rum takes its name from the mythical sea beast which is said to have wreaked havoc with tall ships and rum running vessels throughout history.
Kraken Black Spiced Rum is distilled in pot stills on the Virgin Islands and fermented from naturally sweet molasses made from sugarcane grown on nearby riverbanks. Natural yeasts are used to ferment the water thinned molasses, which is converted directly into alcohol. Kraken Rum is then aged in oak barrels between 12 and 24 months before being blended with the secret spices.

The rich black colour takes its hue form the mysterious ink that, as legend has, the Kraken covered its prey with during fierce battles at sea.
