Disaronno
DISARONNO ORIGINALE AMARETTO LIQUEUR 700ML
Description
A pleasant aroma suggests spice, apricot and nut. Palate is full and balanced with an apricot, sweet fruit element, marzipan and caramel quality, and a suggestion of almond flavour.
Caramelised sugar gives its distinctive amber colour. The sweet almond aroma on the nose is bright and lively without being too sickly sweet and gives a nutty, toasted backnote on the finish. Softer on the palate with a rather short, sweet flavour of almond and marzipan.
Disaronno is made in Saronno, Italy, using only the highest quality natural ingredients. A quintessential symbol of Italian style worldwide, Disaronno Originale is the world's number one Italian liqueur sold in more than 160 countries. And it all began with love story, more than 500 years ago with this remarkable liquid tracing its lineage back to the Renaissance. In 1525, Bernardino Luini of the Leonardo Da Vinci School of Art won a commission to paint a fresco of the Madonna. He chose a young innkeeper as his model. The young girl fell in love with Bernardino and created a beautiful amber coloured liqueur as a gift for the artist. This gift was the first bottle of Disaronno â using the pure essences of 17 herbs and fruits steeped in apricot kernel oil. Disaronno's distinctive notes of almond and marzipan are not derived from nuts â in fact, Disaronno contains no nuts at all â but from apricot kernels. The production process, with its special methods of extraction, soaking and vacuum-sealed distillation contain the secrets of Disaronno whose receipe in unchanged since 1525..
Besides its unmistakable flavour, Disaronno is also known throughout the world for its distinctive, elegant bottle. Over the years the original cylinder shape gradually turned into a squarer form and the stopper, originally inspired by wine bottles, also developed into a real symbol of design. In the late seventies, in the glass mill of a master craftsman from Murano, Italy, the unique square bottle and cap and bevelled, hand-crafted glass design which is now so familiar all over the world, was created.
