With an instinctive idea that something different would happen as he transferred whisky from an American oak cask to finish in a sweet Oloroso sherry cask, The Balvenie's Malt Master David C Stewart created the world's original cask finished single malt Scotch whisky, adding colour and spicy notes to a traditional Scotch whisky.
