The Story

Wild Oats Wines are produced by premier Australian winemakers, the Oatley family. Well known for their sailing and tourism pursuits, the Oatleys first major venture was in fact wine. Refined in structure and texture, detailed and generous in personality, and served in the slickest of bright, fashionable packaging  Wild Oats wines set the scene for every enjoyable occasion.

The Wine

This Pinot Grigio is refined in structure and texture, medium bodied, crisp and has spicy aromas. Wild Oats Pinot Grigio aims for an Italian reflection of the varietal, but also captures the fruity and zesty nature of the grape. With not so much a whiff of oak, this is a delightful alternative to chardonnay and as it is fruity by nature, is a great substitute for sauvignon blanc.Wild Oats Pinot Grigio is made in the true Pinot Grigio style; medium bodied, crisp and with a spicy aroma.

  • Halliday rated 90 points (2008 vintage)

"An unusually fragrant bouquet of apple, pear and bath powder aromas; the palate has substance and thrust and is pleasantly dry. Quite an achievement". -James Halliday, 2011.

"Right on the money for this increasingly popular style in Australia. Light and spicy with hints of musk and tart pear. It's got some weight on the mid-palate with a fine lingering acid".
- Ray Jordan, The West Australian, January 29 2009

Tasting Note: Medium bodied, crisp and with a spicy aroma.
