Pampero was created in 1938 by the son of a fisherman Alejandro Hernandez. Hernandez original recipe introduced a distillation process unique to Venezuela. Hernandez harvested the finest sugar cane only in the incredibly humid dry season, to produce a smoother cut of alcohol. This alcohol blended with the local Carbonero spring water creates a distinctive deep, complex intense spirit with a surprisingly smooth rounded flavour. Pampero set the standard for rum production in Venezuela, and is proudly the first rum to be accredited Añejo by the Venezuelan government.

Pampero Anejo Especial Rum is distilled from fermented molasses, aged in used white oak whisky and bourbon barrels and rums from 2 to 5 years old are blended to create its rich butter and toffee character. Sip it straight, neat, on the rocks, or mix it with cola and lime wedges.

Tasting Note: Aromas of vanilla, cooked banana and hints of caramel and butterscotch. The palate is buttery with toffee brittle, peanut butter and spice. The soft oak finish is complimented with lingering spice.

    Excellent Venezuelan Rum

Published by Jorge on 21st May 2020

Delicious Venezuelan rum that can be sipped on by itself or on the rocks - of course it tastes great with coke too. As a Venezuelan/Aussie guy, I am very happy with GoodDrop as it is one, if not the only business that has this rum in Australia at an incredibly cheap price. Will definitely be buying from them again.
