Description

ORIGIN
The Bordeaux AOC is one of the largest, and certainly one of the most famous, wine regions of France.Growing mainly red grape varieties, the Merlot is the predominant variety within the Bordeaux region where it is able to express its full potential.

VINIFICATION
After a short pre-fermentation maceration to extract the aromatic compounds from the skins, vinification takes place at a controlled temperature. 4-6 months ageing then enables the tannins to soften and gives the wine its spicy, oaky character.

Serve between 16-18°C. Best enjoyed within 2-3 years. Pair with red meats, hard cheeses, chocolate desserts.

Maison Castel was founded in Bordeaux in 1949 by a family of 9 brothers and sisters, and remains a family business to this day. For over 60 years they have devoted their energy and skills to spreading the word about French wines throughout the world. Maison Castel is now the largest wine company in France, and third largest in the world, recognised globally as a symbol of high quality and unparalleled expertise.

Tasting Note: Bright with a strong garnet hue. Intense notes of red and black fruit. Concentrated palate, fruity and silky
