Kahlua is a world renowned Mexican coffee liqueur, and the personification of fine and exotic flavours.
Introduced to the market of alcoholic beverages in 1936, Kahlua has become recognised as the essence of Veracruz; reflecting the liqueur's own slogan - 'The Spirit of Veracruz'.
Veracruz's Arabica coffee beans are married with the region's finest sugarcane alongside a touch of vanilla bean in a rum-based suspension. After seven years the result is a sweetened coffee liqueur indulgence - or as the Mexicans call it - Kahlua.
Since the introduction of Kahlua, a stream of Kahlua Cocktails have emerged, including the B-52, Mud Slide and White Russian. Not limited to liquid form, many Kahlua recipes for cakes and desserts have also transpired. Try a splash over fresh ice-cream, or mixed into a coffee or hot chocolate.
Tasting Note: Dark in colouring, the palate is dense and sweet, with a sugared appeal that perfectly complements a bold coffee flavour. Dark and exotic, with a hint of vanilla and a smooth finish.
