Jack Daniel's Single Barrel 100 Proof replaced the popular Silver Select bottling. Originally released in August 2015 in the US and scheduled for release in select duty-free airports around the world, we have managed to source stock of this covetable Jack release.
Single Barrel 100 Proof Tennessee Whiskey is bottled in bond. That means it’s produced under a certain set of standards: in one distillery season, by one distiller, in a federally bonded warehouse, it is also at least four years old and bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof). Mash grain with at least 51% corn and aged in new, charred American oak barrels, filtered through maple charcoal prior to aging. These limited barrels are aged in the highest reaches of Jack Daniel's barrelhouses, where the whiskey’s color and taste mature an extra measure. As to be expected from single barrel expressions which are never blended, there will be slight variations in flavor from bottle to bottle. Drink neat.
Jeff Arnett - Jack Daniel’s Master Distiller... "As master distiller at Jack Daniel’s, I get the privilege of traveling to the top floors of our barrel houses in Lynchburg and hand drilling individual barrels. This provides me the rare opportunity to taste Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey in its purest form; unfiltered and uncut, I’m always amazed at the intensity of the aromas and the deep amber colors, and yet at the same time, the exceptional smoothness of the whiskey at this higher proof point. After years of thinking about and discussing a barrel proof offering from Jack Daniel’s, we believe that now is the perfect time to make this available to all of our friends around the world. I’m confident that everyone will be as impressed as I was the first time I tasted this unique form of Single Barrel whiskey.”
Tasting Note: Smooth, aromatic Tennessee Whiskey. Notes of caramel, vanilla and light spice give way to rich flavourful oak with a balanced depth on the finish.
