Hidden from the main street in the town of Rothes, The Glenrothes is an award-winning Speyside Single Malt distillery and a pioneer in the whisky industry. Released specially for travel retail and matured in a higher proportion of Spanish Oak casks, The Glenrothes Minister's Reserve is the pinnacle of the Manse Brae collection. The Minister of the Kirk is the lead authority within the community and elected by the Kirk Elders for his wealth of experience. At the time of the release in 2013, the age of the whisky was communicated as 21 years old, but this was not printed on the label. Newer bottlings of the Minister's Reserve have since been officially labelled to be 21 years old.

All Glenrothes Single Malts are vintage whisky, meaning the whisky distilled from a particular year which has reached its peak maturity, character and flavour, rather than bottling at a pre-determined age.

  • 91 Points - Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2019, 2018 "This is pretty amazing. The grape really does come through with a spring in its juicy step. Absolutely top dollar sherry at work, a gorgeous sultana-laden sweetness but backed by the most luscious mouth-feel, aided by a little liquorice from the oak. A little Manuka honey fights off the successfully late bitterness. I think the Minister had a little word with someone upstairs."

Tasting Note: Resinous, sweet fruity, pink grapefruit, orange boxes. Soft cedarwood, dried fruit peel and tropical fruits with hints of rose. Lingering spicy cedarwood and vanilla.
