Originally released for Travel Retail and part of the Manse Brae collection, The Glenrothes Manse Reserve is a soft, yet rich Speyside whisky largely matured in American Oak casks with some Sherry Oak also evident.
The Manse is historically the house of the Minister of the Church. Sitting atop of the hill on Manse Brae, overlooking the town and the eponymous distillery below, it is now called Rothes House and home to the eighth generation of the family that founded The Glenrothes business. Approachable and accessible, this whisky typifies the elegant sophistication of the spiritual home of The Glenrothes. Bottled at 43% ABV.
About The Glenrothes
Hidden from the main street in the town of Rothes, The Glenrothes is an award-winning Speyside Single Malt distillery and a pioneer in the whisky industry. The distillery lies at the foot of the Mannoch Hills beside the Rothes burn. The water used in the process of making Glenrothes whisky comes from two natural springs upstream of the town, the Ardcanny and the Brauchhill.
All Glenrothes Single Malts are vintage whisky, meaning not just mean aged; but whisky distilled in a particular year that has reached its peak of maturity, character and flavour.
Tasting Note: Autumn orchard, custard cream biscuits, fleeting but recurrent floral notes. Fresh, uplifting, bottled pears, soft alluring spices. Medium length. Refreshingly fruity with uplifting spices.
