“Only by unlearning what we know and collaborating with like-minded mavericks can we try new things, experiment, push whisky boundaries and challenge traditions.”- Malt Master Brian Kinsman
Project XX (pronounced twenty) is the second bottling in The Experimental Series; part of Glenfiddichs’ drive to create a range of ground-breaking single malts. The No.2 experiment of the series took place privately at their Conval warehouse. Shrouded in secrecy, Malt Master Brian Kinsman invited 20 whisky experts from around the world to select any expression of their choosing from the thousands of stacked casks. The final 20 chosen malts, matured in everything from port pipes to virgin bourbon barrels, have created an unusual, innovative and unexpected whisky. The Project XX experiment was so shrouded in secrecy that the whisky experts taking part didn’t even know about it until half way through the process.
