Description

Nose evokes standing on a Scottish beach on bonfire night with salted caramel toffee. Stewed stone fruits on the palate that gives way to salted toffee lashings of smoke and earthy characteristics. Smouldering wood finish with spice and sea spray.

Douglas Laing is an independent bottler of fine Scotch whisky, established in 1948. The concept is to enable whisky lovers around the world a chance to come as close as they can to sampling whisky as it was straight from the cask or having a whisky experience like no other.

The Big Peat Christmas Editions have become a collector's item with whisky connoisseurs around the world. Bottled at cask strength drawing the whisky from Ardbeg, Bowmore, Caol Ila and Port Ellen distilleries, creating a big punchy whisky full of maritime and smokey notes.

This bottling is taken from their range of ‘remarkable regional malts' which is a series of malt whiskies created to take the whisky connoisseur on a journey of the whisky regions of Scotland. Big Peat from Islay, The Epicurean from the Lowlands, Rock Oyster from the country's islands, Scallywag from Speyside, The Gauldron from Campbeltown and Timorous Beastie from the Highlands.
