Established in 1976 Petaluma is built upon the old world belief of planting the right varieties for individual vineyards in regions where they excel. The Petaluma wines are a singular exploration of this founding belief and this pioneering attitude towards viticulture and winemaking remains as uncompromising and true today as it did over 35 years ago.
Croser sparkling wines encapsulate handcrafted Australian elegance in the bottle, using pristine Adelaide Hills fruit with great natural acidity and elegant flavours.
Petaluma Croser is a refined aperitif blend of 67% Pinot Noir and 33% Chardonnay all from the old vineyards in the Piccadilly Valley, first planted in 1979.
The palate is richly textured with hints of red berry fruits and a wonderfully fine and creamy bead, a Croser hallmark.

"The relatively short period on tirage has resulted in a bracingly crisp and fresh wine, with all of the expected length....One has to admire its technical elegance, and the quality of the base wine coming, as it does, from the Piccadilly Valley." James Halliday.
"This is a tactical wine that we all need to keep on hand in our sparkling arsenal, an impeccably crafted Adelaide Hills style that ducks strategically under the price of any champagne worth drinking. There's impressive drive of taut, lemon juice acidity derived from high altitude Piccadilly Valley vines, offset beautifully with the subtle spice of partial fermentation in old barriques. Fine, chalky, mineral acidity carries long on a finish of impressive linearity." - Tyson Stelzer, Tyson Stelzer.com, 2013.
Tasting Note: A complex, elegant and creamy vintage Croser with a nose redolent of honey and cashew and an alluring citrus lift. The palate shows wild strawberry Pinot characters alongside a more buttery nectarine Chardonnay before a soft yeasty finish.
