Description
The Story
Much of Australia’s premier winegrowing regions were profoundly influenced by volcanic activity of many millennia ago. “Chain of Fire†is the experts’ term for a series of extinct volcanoes.
Rich volcanic soils create ideal conditions for the growth of high quality grapes which we celebrate in this label featuring a blacksmith - in tribute to Vulcan, the Roman God of Volcanoes, a supremely skilled artisan whose metal-working forge was a volcano.
The Wine
Chain of Fire Shiraz Cabernet combines the generosity of Shiraz with the elegant structure of Cabernet in a very smooth, very drinkable wine.
Harvested at optimum ripeness and fermented at moderate temperature. A small portion was matured in old French oak for 18 months prior to blending and bottling.
Tasting Note: The wine opens with ripe and robust flavours of cherries and oak. The finish is smooth long, and full bodied.
