Cassegrain Chardonnay 2009 is an entirely fruit driven wine with a touch of grapefruit and melon.

Cassegrain wines are renowned for the imbuement of a trademark French style, the legacy of founding father and operator Frenchman John Cassegrain.

By combining traditional and revered French wine making practices with Australian wine production technology, Cassegrain uses an unrivalled ‘savoir faire’ to produce wines of unparalleled character and consistency.

The 2009 Chardonnay hails from the New England and Tumbarumba regions, benefiting from both a temperate, maritime climate and a high altitude, cooler climatic experience.

  • James Halliday rated: 87

Pale yellow in colour. Aromas of nectarine and white peach with background creamy oak. The palate shows peach and orange citrus flavours combined with gently nutty oak. Complexity and a creamy textural finish.

Tasting Note: The fruit for the 2008 Fromenteau was sourced solely from cool climate and high altitude vineyards of Tumbarumba. This impressive wine is delicate lemon in colour.
