The secret to The West Winds story is buried within the name. The wind and the waves are at the heart of the brand, honouring the ocean breezes that brought sailors and explorers across the Indian Ocean to the West Coast of Australia.
Established in 2010 and located in Margaret River, Western Australia - an area famous for its fantastic surf and excellent food and wine, The West Winds Gins were created with an aim to rival the best in the world. The gins are small batch distilled in Pugwash, West Winds’ custom made 600 litre copper pot still and over 50% of the botanicals used are indigenous to Australia. These are then combined with more traditional botanicals and ingredients, like locally grown fresh lemon, lime peel and fresh coriander.
All three gins; The Sabre, The Cutlass and The Broadside have been awarded Australia’s Champion Gin at Australia’s premier spirits competition, as well as picking up multiple international accolades.
