THE HISTORY
Comte de Noiron is the 5th largest champagne group worldwide. Crafted by fourth-generation family winemakers, they boast independence in a world of multi-corporate champagne brands. Since the 1900s, Comte De Noiron champagne has been produced on a winery that sits above some of the oldest cellars in Reims; the capital of the Champagne wine region. The winery dates to medieval times, having originally been created and owned by the family Balahu de Noiron, a well-known and powerful French family related to the kingdom of France.

THE REGION
Montagne de Reims is known as ‘the heart of Champagne’ located in the North of France about 160kms east of Paris. Most of the vines in this region are planted on south facing slopes to avoid morning frost, allowing the vines to thrive under a full day of sunlight. Comte de Noiron Champagne is produced from the highest quality grapes, handpicked across five acres of vineyard in the village of Cezanne and across 50 acres in the village of Broyes.
Champagne is an origin protected product that is synonymous with quality and elegance. The viticulture boundaries of the Champagne wine region are legally defined and wines produced in this region are governed by strict laws around quality and style. European law and the laws of most countries reserve the term Champagne exclusively for wines that come from this region.
Many famous Champagne houses are located in Montagne de Reims, as well as the abbey where famous monk Dom Pierre Perignon spent his life. In addition to Champagne, Montagne de Reims is a hub for exquisite food and dining that attracts tourists from across the globe.

THE PROCESS
The perfect blending of Chardonnay and Pinot grapes creates a superb balance of sophistication and elegance and as a result the champagne has a rich, floral, elegant taste with a concentrated finish. Ageing takes place in optimal cellaring conditions and by law is held for a minimum of 15 months for non-vintage and minimum 3 years for vintage wines. All Comte de Noiron styles are brut, delivering a lower sugar per liter ratio.
