Description

Bacardi Superior Rum is the original, quintessential white rum created in Havana, Cuba in 1862. This highly mixable, light-bodied rum has gained an incredibly enthusiastic and globalised legion of fans to become the largest selling brand of rum worldwide. Selling over 200 million bottles per year in nearly 100 countries, Bacardi Superior holds the world's number-one-selling premium spirits brand title, and has locally been acclaimed as the 'Best White Spirit' four years running.

When Don Facundo, Founder of Bacardi, arrived in Cuba from Spain, rum was made cheaply and was not considered a particularly refined drink. Accordingly, he sought to completely titivate the reputation of the spirit. In an attempt to tame rum, Facundo filtered the rum twice through charcoal, removing the impurities, and mellowed the rum through ageing in oak barrels.

Tasting Note: Dry and smooth. Austere, with a slight spice character. Broad, medium length. Light-bodied but with depth of flavour and character. Impressions of vanilla and subtle aromas of almonds and tropical fruits.
